One of the consequences of the great season they've had out there, including record Summer rains, is the inevitable mouse plague that accompanies it. All is not bad news however, as it enables many raptor species, like this gorgeous Black-shouldered Kite, to breed up due to the abundance of food. I've never seen so many BSK's, or the huge numbers of raptors (and owls) in general that were taking advantage of the bounty!
