The Paramo Tapaculo lives in the very high mountains (3000-4000m) of the Central Andes of Colombia and south into Ecuador & Peru. As most tapaculos, it favors the very dark and dense undergrowth of humid forests & treeline scrub, where difficult to spot and see well.
Photographed here along the road to Los Nevados National Park, Central Andes.
