There's just something about raptors - they're beautiful, aerodynamic hunting machines, especially falcons. We were driving along when I saw this kestrel drop down to the side of the road, grab a poor unsuspecting Willie Wagtail and carry him to this nearby fencepost. The Willie was still struggling as the kestrel starting pulling out his feathers. Luckily he stayed there long enough for me to grab a photo before flying off with his quarry to a nearby tree to enjoy his breakfast in peace!
