We were led to this roosting nightjar by Francis a talented and very competent young bird guide. On initial approach this cryptic bird was so well-camouflaged that I struggled to see it in the viewfinder; however I was able to re-position myself with the late afternoon sun behind me. Sunlight falling on this bird was a revelation as golden highlights became apparent in the feathers.
