At the ranger station in Manu national park around 2000 meters. Lyre-tailed Nighjars are normally associated with rocks, but apparently this bird has been sleeping there for a few years. Thanks to lewis20126 at birdforum.net for this ID.
Male has a tail up to three times the length of the body, but it is often shorter. Note {rufous} collar around back of neck on male and female. Note white tip to tail compared to [Swallow-tailed Nightjar]. Often seen in the day on rocky cliffs.
