El Carnicero. Also known as the Nubian Vulture -this is a massive and powerful bird that dominates at carcases. With its size, strength and massive hooked beak it is able to open up the toughest of carcases.
This image was taken at dawn in Kenya's Masai Mara -it was still cool with no thermals and little wind so this guy was in no hurry to take to the wing.
These types of image are always an exposurer nightmare -dark bird against a light sky.
