This is the T & T subspecies which despite the scientific name is not found in the Bahamas. Recently some authorities have split the Blue-crowned Motmot into five species with the Trinidad subspecies being elevated to a full species. If generally accepted then it will become T & T's second endemic bird.
On T & T these birds are common and quite approachable.
