I was delighted to find that there were actually water birds on the (now) full ponds at Cooleman Ridge! Yay!!! Time for some fun...
This is pretty much full frame, to give an idea of how curious these grebes were. In fact, twice they came closer than the MFD of the lens (2.5m), almost so I could have reached out and touched them. I think they were checking me out, but not sure why. I am sure I wasn't sitting on or near a nest or anything like that.
