EDITOR: Identified as a Eurasian, which do show up in North America. After researching, I suspect a typo by photographer. I had written: Maybe a vagrant from Eurasia. Here is some information about differentiating the Eurasian and Green-winged Teals and hybrids.
A small dabbling duck similar to the [Eurasian Teal] which is generally found in Eurasia. [Eurasian Teal]s are rare but regular in the Americas. Only males in breeding plumage can be differentiated: look for a vertical white stripe near the front when the duck is resting on the water (see photo).
