Pelagic Birds
This album contains Albatross, Shearwaters and Petrels, which are pelagic (living at sea) birds of the order Procellariiformes. Also included are Tropicbirds, which are of the order Phaethontiformes. Because of plastic and other pollution, longline fishing and overfishing, (among other things such as oil spills), many of these birds are threatened. Of 21 species of Albatross, 9 are endangered (4 critically) and only one is listed as 'Least Concern'.
