This individual was seen in a group of Buff-burnished Tanagers (see other photo), but this individual is quite blue and could be misidentified as a Scrub Tanager out of context.
This species has a black throat in the southern part of its range. In the northern part of its range it looks very similar to the mostly Colombian [Scrub Tanager], but is found at lower altitudes and has a slightly less defined crown and has slightly different color shades with {buff} sides and back.
