The male Chestnut-bellied Seed Finch and Thick-billed Seed Finch look quite different, but were once considered the same species (Lesser Seed Finch) because they hybridize in central Colombia. The Natureserve maps used here have the Chestnut-bellied in Magdalena, but newer maps such as HBW have the Thick-billed there.
