Difficult identification because Black-lored Babblers has two different races (Nominate and Vepres) with some mix on plumage but the white-eye is a distinctive sign.
Nominate lives in west Uganda and Vepres is South Kenya-North Tanzania (restricted area).
Our guide was very excited when we found this species because it's a rare species in Masai Mara.
HBW illustrates the 'vepres' race in Kenya as having a white throat, while the 'sharpei' race has a scaled throat. Note white eye compared to similar species such as [Arrow-marked Babbler].
