These honeyeaters were everywhere at Binya, yet I only saw them twice at Cocoparra. At Binya, though, they were all over the place, feeding in the mistletoe, chasing each other around and calling loudly. They have a lovely bubbling kind of song. However, there were so many of these birds calling at the same time, all the time, that I almost missed the Painted Honeyeater when it came in.
They are stated as 'uncommon' in Pizzey and Knight. There must have been well over hundreds of them in Binya, hard to imagine them as uncommon! I only saw on Striped Honeyeater, which is also classed as uncommon, maybe more appropriate at Binya:)
