A relatively large hummingbird with a red bill and golden tail. Also known as the Red-legged Plumeleteer for obvious reasons.
The white vent and range map point to a White-vented Plumeleteer, but the pink feet and golden tail seem to indicate otherwise. Later I learned that the races of this species below Costa Rica do have a white vent. This race is sometimes called the Green-breasted Plumeleteer.
