A strikingly plumaged pipit that breeds from northern Scandavia across through northern Siberia. It is a migratory species and winters in Africa and SE Asia. Occasionally is found as an Autumn vagrant in Ireland though one did winter in Co Dublin in 2007/08. This bird was photographed in a very misty valley in Batsfjord (overlooking the Barents Sea), Finnmark in the north of Norway.
