I am not a big fan of the square crop, but I couldnt think of any other way to crop this photo.
Again, this was taken on the last morning of the Year 11 Botany Camp down in Mimosa Rocks NP. There were quite a few of these guys around, and this one returned to this same perch a couple of times, allowing me to hide behind a bush and wait until he arrived again.
Nice viewed LARGE. The thing with this lense is it is sometimes capable of producing very good images optically (eg. this one) but most of the time can be downright terrible considering what it maybe should be.
The 580EX Flash was used to even out the colours and blacks/whites on the bird.
