Although they are one of the most common birds in the rainforest, Yellow-throated Scrubwrens are very hard to get a decent shot of, mainly because they are small, fast, and usually stay in the undergrowth, where access is very hard, and light is virtually non-existent.
This was the only decent photo of this species for the trip, despite the fact that I tried many times on various birds. To solve the light problem (as I dont shoot with a tripod), this shot was taken lying flat on my belly on the path, supporting the camera to make sure it was flat. Thus the angle.
This bird is a male, told by the near-black mask and the deep yellow. The female has little strong yellow, and a brown mask.
