Grebes, Loons
This album contains Grebes and Loons, which are unrelated birds of the orders Podicipediformes and Gaviiformes. See
Complete List. The Atitlan Grebe became extinct when a fish was introduced into Lake Atitlan in Guatemala for sport fishing. The big fish ate all of the smaller fish which the grebe needed for survival. And the Alaotra Grebe of Madagascar was also recently declared extinct.
