EDITOR: The Red Knot is a symbol for conservation. The bird's migration stretches from the south of Argentina to the Arctic Circle, and it requires many resting stops. By chance I visited one stop, a protected area in central Argentina, where I was told Canadians had spent $700,000 to build a nature center dedicated to the Red Knot.
