In memory of Dennis Croukamp, founder of Parque das Aves in Foz do Iguau, Brasil. The park is a wonderful place for the general public to experience tropical birds in an almost natural environment. The parks preserves many hectacres of primary forest, and rehabilitates, breeds and releases endangered species.
A large toucan. The 'tucanus' subspecies in west Venezuela, Guyanas, and northeast Brazil has a red bill. Both races have a yellow stripe on top of the bill like one race of the [Channel-billed Toucan].
