I watched this bird for some time with Peruvian bird expert Juan Carlos in Tambopata Reserve. See my trip report for more info. Because the male wasn't around, it was hard to make a positive ID. With the help of this weak photo, we determined is was a Manakin, and when Juan played an audio tape of this species, the bird started hopping around like crazy. That confirmed Juan's theory and clinched the ID.
