I am sure there are better photos of this common species, but I wanted to document the rich indigo blue color of the Blue Dacnis in the Magdalena Valley. HBW writes that caerebicolor male is darkest and most deeply coloured of all races. I wonder if this has something to do with the dark berries (miconia) they frequent.
