Probably this is the orange aequatorialis subspecies found in east Colombia, as opposed to the much redder ones found in the west. I wrote probably because with caged birds there is the possibility of diet causing a color change. This species is often near streams and is said to nest behind waterfalls, so for that reason I like this photo, despite it being a captive bird.
Most commonly seen at a {lek}, where males gather making zombie-like sounds awaiting a female. Leks are active in early morning hours, are become very noisy when a female arrives.
