The 'paroaria gularis nitrogenis' subspecies of the Red-capped Cardinal is only found in Trinidad and Northern Venezuela. It has a red chin, where the more common 'nominate' species has a black chin. Because the two species do not interbreed where they overlap, it has been suggested this bird, nitrogenis, is a different species, and should be called the Masked Cardinal. As you can see this happened.
