OK, these aren't pretty birds but they are fascinating and impressive to watch!
The Mara-Serengeti ecosystem is one of the last places in the World where large numbers of vultures of various species can still be seen.
Lappet-faced Vultures are much less sociable than the Gyps vultures which they dominate at the carcase. These huge birds have powerful meat-cleaver bills with which they can open up a carcase which allows the other vultures access.
