Sure would be easy if all birds would let you walk up to them and photograph them like Masked Trogons do. Having said that, I still had to go off the trail to get high enough, and wait with my heavy lens for the bird to look at me, which it did not. And I couldn't get a great background, but kept the photo because of the sharpness.
Found at over 1800m in most of the Andes. Compare to [Collared Trogon] found at lower altitudes; on male note more finely barred tail with bigger white patches.
