info
A rare Short-eared Owl sighting in Florida, and very rare for Broward county. Sibley writes the Caribbean subspecies of the Short-eared Owl might be seen in south Florida, usually the Keys, from April to June, and this happened in May. The owl was scared into the open by a Red-shouldered Hawk, allowing this lucky photo in bad light.
