This kingbird lives west of the Andes in Ecuador and northern Peru, rarely SW Colombia. It is highly migratory, breeding in dry forest in the south of its range, then moving north in the dry season into more humid forest. This pair was on a breeding territory, and I caught it in the middle of one of the wing-lifting displays that is typical of this and several other kingbird species.
