Identification from Common Cuckoo (Cuculus canorus) is tricky. The uppertail pattern in this bird is inconclusive, base colour is fairly uniform pointing towards Common however white spots along edges are reasonably pronounced favouring African. Bill colour however clearly points to African, significant yellow on upper mandible completely encircling nostril and it is based on this that I have made the identification.
