White-winged Scoter
  (Melanitta deglandi)

Comments: call.   natural vocalizations; calls from several of five birds (three males and two females) interacting on a small roadside pond surrounded by dense Black Spruce muskeg. Part-way through the cut the whole group flushes, giving some more calls. I believe the females are giving most of the calls in the cut, with the two quiet clear notes nearer the beginning of the cut coming from the male birds.     bird-seen:yes     playback-used:no       Citation: Andrew Spencer, XC181618.
