Tapajos Hermit
  (Phaethornis aethopygus)

Recorded by Guilherme R R Brito on 2009-06-05
Brazil, Right bank of Rio Teles Pires, Jacareacanga, Para
Comments: song.   Soon to be rediscribed at the species level. Said to be an hybrid species, but none of the supposed parental ones occurs on the Tapajos-Xingu interfluvium. Not to say about the several diagnostic morphological characters. Singing male (yes they have a very marked plumage sexual dimorphism).   Citation: Guilherme R R Brito, XC36955.
