Comments: call, male.   Many other species in background and foreground. The barbet's call is the grating "kaak kaak" notes repeated many times over while collecctiing berries that it fed to a newly fledged offspring in female plumage. The fledgling had left the nest early that morning. It was completely silent both in the nest and while being fed outside. According to my experience so far, this bird spontaneously calls only when dependent young are present.
