Comments: song.   Habitat:Corymbia citriodora subsp. variegata woodland usually including Eucalyptus siderophloia or E. crebra (sub coastal ranges), E. propinqua and E. acmenoides or E. carnea. Lophostemon confertus often present in gullies and as a sub-canopy or understorey tree. Mixed understorey of grasses, shrubs and ferns. Occurs on hills and ranges.     0s to 6.5s - forms a series of harmonics at 1.1 kHz, then 2.2 kHz and then 3.3 kHz, large number of quick notes. This is piping of a Channel-billed Cuckoo.     Starting at 2.1s and finishes at 3.6s. A series of notes that descend from 7.8 kHz down to 3.6 kHz is the Variegated Fairywren     Starting at 4.8s and ends at 10s. A series of 8 phrases that contain 3 to 5 syllables, with the first usually being the highest at 7 kHz although 2 phrases begin lower than the others around 5.7 kHz. the syllables decrease to 6.1 kHz.
