Black-throated Loon
  (Gavia arctica)
Recorded by Lance A. M. Benner on 2017-10-29
Finland, Hame Visitor Center, Ruostejarvi, Tammela, Forssa, Tavastia Proper
Comments: call, song, water splashing as a bird dived.   Natural vocalizations by at least two arctic loons (aka black-throated divers). There were 24 loons on the lake and most were very close to shore where we were standing. All were in adult plumage. The sounds of two birds squabbling and one diving are audible on the recording.     Weather conditions: overcast; intermittent light rain; temperature about 10 C; winds calm.     Equipment: Olympus LS-10S with a Sennheiser MKE-400 short shotgun microphone.Modifications to the file: cropped     bird-seen:yes     playback-used:no   Citation: Lance A.
