This species is much less skittish than most of the others in their family, except maybe the osprey. They are known for standing out in the open and getting shot by farmers. This one came and visited me for about 30 seconds in a picnic area. I was just getting started with bird photography when it took this shot, so am much less happy with it then I was at the time.
