I took my first trip out to the Isle of May this year. It was raining on the Fife coast when we left but on arrival at the island we had about an hour of sun and clear skies before the weather closed in. A strong westerly wind made the return trip unpleasant forcing quite a few of the passengers to part with their lunches!
The Puffins are back in number with quite a few excavating burrows whilst many others were loafing around. Unfortunately being on the island from midday till three created harsh overhead lighting ( it is best to be on the island in the morning or late afternoon).
